STEM CELL AWARENESS DAY
October the 11th is Stem Cell Awareness Day! In the regenerative medicine field, stem cell therapy has reached popularity due to the positive results patients suffering from degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and more get.
Stem cell therapy is government approved and commonly practiced every day by doctors in many countries including India, South Korea, Singapore, China, Germany, and of course Mexico. Reaching thousands of people and establishing as a viable option to enhance the health or stopping the deterioration of people's health all over the world.
This only confirms that the developments and the accomplishments in the medical field are successes of humanity and should be made aware and celebrated.
At GIOSTAR, Dr. Anand Srivastava is the man behind the research and protocols, the pioneer of stem cell therapy, member of several scientific review committees where he has written distinguished review articles and scientific manuscripts that until today are used as the base for new research, the development of new treatments, and innovation in the stem cell therapy field.
Q&A
What are stem cells?
Stem cells are blank cells, this means they are not biologically assigned any specific function, they can divide and produce more cells once they have a function regenerating damaged tissue.
How many types of stem cells are there?
Two, there are two types of stem cells.
- One is the embryonic stem cells which are pretty controversial, they come from human embryos and they are known to produce tumors since they are unable to control the division and production of cells.
- The other one is adult stem cells, they can be found in many tissues, they function as the repair team of our body, regenerating damaged tissue.
What kind of stem cells we use?
We use adult stem cells from adipose tissue. Why? The area around our waist functions as a storage unit where we save our energy and perfectly healthy adult stem cells in case our body needs either one of those.
These stem cells go under a procedure specially designed by Dr. Anand Srivastava where we separate the stem cells and cultivate them, reverse their age, assign functions and apply them where needed.
